  • Forum Rules

    The administrators and moderators of Solos Forum will periodically review the messages posted in an attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this site. However, considering the real-time nature of this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages as they are posted or confirm the validity of information posted. We cannot be held responsible for the content of any messages. Messages express the views of the author and not necessarily the views of Solos Holidays Limited or any person associated with Solos Holidays Limited. The owners of Solos Forum reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any content item for any reason.

    You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of Solos Forum, Solos Holidays Limited, in respect of any complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you. We reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.

    In order to help protect the forum against harmful or spam posts, during the Registration process the forum uses automated external services which will check your connecting IP address, username and the email address you provide against lists of known spammers and DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) originators. If identified, your registration will fail.

    Many potential spammers and trolls make use of temporary email addresses provided by various internet companies. These are usually disposable one-off email addresses to enable the person to hide their true identity. As such, they are against the spirit of the forum and any use of these is strictly forbidden. A list of known temporary email address providers is maintained and any potential member attempting to use one of these will be prevented from registering and any existing member found to be using one will be permanently banned.

    By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages or materials that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, abusive, profane, defamatory, hateful, threatening, harassing, racist, invasive of a person's privacy, any statement which is knowingly false or inaccurate, or which contravenes any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by Solos Holidays Limited. Please note that the posting of advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are prohibited.

    Guests to the Solos Forum can search and read posts in the Solos Post Room and New To Solos? forums. You must Register to view the full Forum and to create or reply to threads or posts.

    All registered members can create Groups. The 'owner' of each group is responsible for all content contained within it, this includes discussions, photos and comments. The owner can remove offensive content as well as unjoin a member. If persistent contravention of the rules persist, a group owner can report a member to the forum administrator, who can invoke an 'infraction' against a member. There are varying levels of infraction including removal of ability to post or upload images for a short time, up to permanent removal of membership of the Solos Forum.

    Content within Groups can be searched and read by registered members, but in order to post or upload photos to Groups, you must request to Join the Group. Continued membership of any Group is dependent on adhering to the Forum Rules.

    We reserve the right to monitor all posts, uploads and messaging facilities, including private messaging to ensure that our forum rules are upheld. Failure to comply with our Solos Forum rules can incur the user having Member Infractions raised against them, which can limit your functionality within the Forum or Groups. Continued non-adherence to the Solos Forum Rules can ultimately lead to the member being permanently removed as a Group Member or banned from the Solos Forum. For messages of a personal nature, we recommend that you use other messaging facilities such as MSN or Yahoo Messenger or using your private email account.

    Any member who feels that a posted message or uploaded photo is objectionable or undesirable is encouraged to contact us immediately by clicking on the Report Message or Report Photo link. We reserve the right to delete any photo and remove or edit objectionable or undesirable messages and we will make every effort to do so within a reasonable time-frame, if we determine that such action is necessary. This is a manual process however, so please understand that we may not be able to remove or edit particular posts or messages immediately. We also reserve the right to delete any post or message for any reason whatsoever.

    Remember this is a travel forum and is not a medium for anyone to let off steam about Solos Holidays Limited, or to promote our competitors. We are aware that from time to time, some of our competitors pop by the forum and post a negative comment here and there. So please do not take all negative comments you may read, at face value. Where Solos Holidays travellers are concerned, we do have procedures in place when any complaint arises. We will not allow our travel forums to be used in any other way, than as we have listed above.

    The Solos Forum is not the place to raise a complaint against us and any such post will be removed.

    In the event that you should be dissatisfied with the arrangements made for your holiday or event and you wish to bring this to our attention, you should do so in writing, to;

      If you have ever wanted to know how to enter symbols into your post, then the table below shows you how!

      You will need a UK Enhanced Keyboard (one with the numerical keypad to the right of the standard keyboard). Simply hold down the Alt key with your left hand and enter the corresponding number on the numerical keypad. When you release the Alt key, the symbol should appear.

      This works for most applications and web sites, including Facebook.
